Kitchen worktops in Manacor, in colour as well as white
Almost everyone assumes a made-to-measure worktop has to be white or grey. It does not, and the photograph on this page proves it: a kitchen with pale, fairly traditional units, and the island finished in a deep green. Solid Surface is manufactured in a wide colour range, including saturated tones that simply do not occur in natural stone. That opens up something we are often asked for in Manacor — keeping a traditional-looking kitchen, with timber or warm lacquered units, and using the worktop as the element that gives the room its character rather than letting it disappear.
Working with colour in a kitchen

Choosing colour has one practical consequence worth knowing: very dark and very glossy tones show fingerprints and dust more than a mid-tone matt. It is not a fault of the material — it happens to any surface — but it shapes the choice if the kitchen is in use all day.
The advantage over a lacquered or laminate top is that here the colour runs through the whole thickness. If the edge is knocked, no white or brown core appears underneath: you see the same green. And if the finish dulls over the years, it is polished back rather than repainted.

- The range is broad: greys, blacks, sands, greens, blues and stone-effect finishes with visible particle. We bring samples to the survey.
- Does the colour hold up over the years?
- Indoors, yes. Outdoors it is important to choose specific references, as prolonged sun can shift some tones.
- Can I combine two colours in one kitchen?
- Yes, and it works very well: a neutral perimeter with a coloured island, or the other way round. It adds little to the cost.
- Is a dark colour harder to keep clean?
- It needs wiping more often for fingerprints, but not a different kind of cleaning. Matt finishes disguise it considerably better than gloss.
