Made-to-measure kitchen worktops in Felanitx

Not every kitchen has room for an island. In many Felanitx houses the kitchen is long and narrow, and the sensible answer is to put everything along one wall, as in the photograph on this page: matt black base units, a pale worktop running the full width, and a lit shelf above. In a kitchen like this the worktop is virtually the only thing at eye level, so its continuity governs everything else. When the units are dark and the surface pale, any cut becomes an obvious line. Resolving it without a joint is what makes the run read as a single piece of furniture rather than an assembly.

Single-run kitchen with matt black units, a continuous pale worktop and a lit upper shelf

The single-run kitchen, done well

  • A worktop in one uninterrupted run from wall to wall, even beyond three metres.
  • Integrated sink and an exact hob cut-out, aligned on the same axis.
  • A splashback rising from the surface to the wall with no angle trim.
  • Shelves in the same material, with edges matching the worktop.
  • Finished end panels so the run closes cleanly at both ends.

The contrast between dark units and a pale worktop works beautifully close up, but it demands clean lines. Any visible screw, aluminium trim or yellowed silicone breaks the effect. That is why, when working this way, it pays to reduce the number of different visible elements to a minimum.

In a single-run kitchen the working area is limited, so every centimetre counts. Making the top to measure lets us gain depth where it matters, resolve a corner without wasting it, and fit the run to walls that are rarely square in older houses.

Other Areas

Felanitx, Portocolom and around

We work in Felanitx, Portocolom, s'Horta and Cala Ferrera. In village houses with stone walls, measuring matters more than usual: right angles are rare, and the worktop is made to follow the real wall rather than a drawing.

Frequently asked questions

My wall is not straight — is that a problem?
No. We take the measurement from the actual wall and fabricate the piece to that profile so it sits without a gap. It is an advantage over standard-sized slabs.
Can the shelf be made in the same material as the worktop?
Yes, and it is the usual choice when you want everything to match. Lighting can also be built into the underside of the shelf.
Which finish shows wear least in a kitchen used daily?
Mid-tone matt finishes disguise use better than either very pale gloss or black. We bring samples so you can judge them in your own light.
How long does installation take?
A single-run kitchen is usually done in one day, provided the base units are fitted and levelled before we arrive.
